The [[Tutorial]] is a special series of [[map|rooms]] which help the player to get used to both the [[Default Controls|controls]] of his/her [[metalface]] and some advanced techniques. It can be accessed via the big question mark in the main menu.

The [[Tutorial]] uses purple transparent walls that are glowing to protect the metalface going out of the map.
At the top of each room there are text messages telling the metalface where to go, what to do or how to do it.
The exit of each room always leads into the next room and it is indicated by 4 green arrows pointing towards each other. The exit is also marked by a floating text which reads "continue".

The tutorial is devided into 19 individual rooms:

== Room #1 ==
In this room you learn the very basic [[controls]]: Moving your [[metalface|character]] left or right and jumping. 

== Room #2 ==
Here you can find a [[Matter Army Issue]] lying on top of a small cupboard. It is used to teach you how to shoot with a weapon.

== Room #3 ==
This room features several targets hanging down from the roof. You learn how to auto-aim in order to shoot those targets.

== Room #4 ==
In room #4 you learn how to reload your weapons. Also, you have to climb over an obstacle to get to the exit.

== Room #5 ==
This is the first room in which you can get killed. In this room you learn how to roll and that rolling can deflect projectiles. As soon as you enter a certain area of the room, projectiles will propel towards you - You have to roll to prevent death.

== Room #6 ==
In this room you learn how to select, charge and throw several different kinds of [[throwables]].

== Room #7 ==
In this room you get introduced to your three different item slots: [[Melee Weapons]], [[Ranged Weapons]] and [[Throwables]].

== Room #8 ==
In this room you learn how to use Jet Shoes.

== Room #9 ==
Here you get introduced to the [[Shield Belt]] and learn how to use batteries.

== Room #10 ==
This is the first room in which you will encounter enemies. However, those cannot harm you in any way. In addition to that you will also learn how to use levers to open and close doors.

== Room #11 ==
This room is where you get introduced to the [[Volt]] system that Cobalt [[Survival]] is based on: You can collect [[Loot]], cash it in at the [[Volt Converter]] to convert it into [[Volts]] and then spend it at one of the [[Vending Machines]], the [[Nano Shower]] or the [[Upgrade Bench]]. You can also buy a [[Thermal Bomb]] which will most likely kill you when you use it.

== Room #12 ==
The fight room! here you can put your knowledge to the test and fight real enemies. If you die, you will instantly respawn at the room's entrance.

== Room #13 ==
This room is basically a junction: You can choose to either skip the rest of the tutorial and instantly return to the main menu or you can stay and continue to learn some advanced techniques.

== Room #14 ==
In this room you learn how to double jump: When running, your feet will start to glow. While your feet glow, you can do a double jump.

== Room #15 ==
In this room you learn how to use the angular momentum of the rolling motion to throw throwables even further.

== Room #16 ==
Here you can learn how to jump even further by using a technique called 'punch jump'.

== Room #17 ==
In this room you learn how to use the defensive punch to reflect projectiles that cannot be reflected with rolling.

== Room #18 ==
In this room you learn how to roll-aim to shoot projectiles towards targets in a strange angle.

== Room #19 ==
This is the last room of the tutorial featuring a great view onto a galaxy. You can leave the tutorial and return to the main menu through the exit.
