Ninjas are not to be taken lightly and must be treated with caution, as they may move from one place to the next with surprising ease and usually attack without mercy. It is not advisable to enter close combat distance, as their melee capabilities are usually much higher than that of yourself or other competition.
Ninjas tend to spawn with Force Devices, which can drain weak shields very easily. However, they can still be taken down with bare fists and other conventional weapons.
Idealistic weaponry would be explosives, but note that if equipped with a Force Device, the attack can be stopped dead and easily avoided, or perhaps even redirected back at yourself. All bullets will be attempted to roll away, unless they can't see you, and may be rendered harmless by the Force Device too.

Heavy weaponry like the [[Missile Launcher]], rifles or automatic slug guns can greatly increase your chances of survival due to their heavy payload, though Ninjas are known to charge through a barrage of fire with little effort. [[Spiked Mine|Spiked Mines]] are a great trick and are very effective, though self caution is needed.

The Ninja is a robotic enemy, encountered in Story Mode, Survival, and Challenges. Clad in a cloth cloak (red by default) and special ops goggles, they are easily distinguishable from a crowd, especially given their agility and mobility. Notorious for their ability to survive, Ninjas are a genuine threat, especially if they get into the spawn area.

Ninjas are usually equipped with the Force Device, which they use to deflect shots (particularly matter shots) and grenades, which would otherwise be an easy kill. Also part of it's usual arsenal is the Phaser, which it sometimes uses to boost its jumps and speed. They are capable of (and can be found) wielding Grenade Guns, some slugger weapons and as of v116, can be spawned with an Shield Belt, and other armour modifiers, and in v121 and onwards, Ninjas also have a strong punch attack. Notable is their near complete silence– Ninjas make less noise when walking/running and do not grunt before shooting, but will attack instantly if they can.

Ninjas can jump higher than Guards and can run much faster too, sometimes being faster than the player. Ninjas also seem to have a higher acceleration when moving, but this just may be their overall behaviour. Ninjas can roll, with surprising effectiveness and finesse, making damaging them that much harder. Their health is near that of your average bot, perhaps slightly higher.

Strategy

Ninjas tend to spawn with Force Devices, which can drain weak shields very easily. However, they can still be taken down with bare fists and other conventional weapons.

Location

Ninjas are featured in the Story Mode in robot bases and ETAC Relays.

In Waves Survival, they are part of "Mini-Boss" attacks in robotic sets, as well as Crazy Bosses.

In Classic Survival, the Ninja was found in the map Survival House to the far right of the map, spawned from the Spawn Booths. In Safest Gate, a Ninja spawner could be found in the building at the right of the map, as well as one or two running around already. They also spawned from the booth on the left side of the map when it was activated and the wall destroyed.

Notes

Trivia

  • Ninjas somewhat resemble Shy Guy, a recurring enemy from Nintendo's Super Mario series, and are possibly a homage to the series.
  • Ninjas were a bit stronger in the Alpha, especially given how rolling worked, but as of recent versions, they are much easier to fight.
