I noticed you "renamed" the Controls page. Renaming existing pages is not done by "cut/paste" the information from one to the other. When you do that, you lose all the page history. Instead, to rename a page, you should use the "Move" function to move the old page to the new name. This allows you to move the associated talk page at the same time, it retains the full edit history (which is required for our licensing) and creates a redirect from the old page to the new one automatically. I have corrected the "rename" of the Controls page, but in the future, please use the proper process. Thanks for everything you do here! It is appreciated. --<small> Wynthyst talk</small> 01:21, 9 January 2012 (UTC)

Hi, I was trying to edit a page

and it said this
"This action has been automatically identified as harmful, and therefore disallowed. If you believe your edit was constructive, please inform an administrator of what you were trying to do. A brief description of the abuse rule which your action matched is: Section removal 2"
I'm new to wiki'ing and cobalt is awesome, and there's not much on the wiki so I thought I would add some info about the map editor. I was trying to change what I had previously wrote to this:
from:
Creating Maps
to:
to start, enter the map editor and create a new map. Add some boxes, make sure there's enough room for a few items

Renaming pages

I noticed you "renamed" the Controls page. Renaming existing pages is not done by "cut/paste" the information from one to the other. When you do that, you lose all the page history. Instead, to rename a page, you should use the "Move" function to move the old page to the new name. This allows you to move the associated talk page at the same time, it retains the full edit history (which is required for our licensing) and creates a redirect from the old page to the new one automatically. I have corrected the "rename" of the Controls page, but in the future, please use the proper process. Thanks for everything you do here! It is appreciated. -- Wynthyst talk 01:21, 9 January 2012 (UTC)

Talk page etiquette

It's generally considered poor etiquette to delete comments from your talk page. Normally once your talk page becomes too long, or discussions become too old (more than 30 days) you would archive it for future reference. -- Wynthyst talk 06:19, 13 January 2012 (UTC)

Greetings

As a new wiki, we are looking for active, committed members of the community to be admins. Would you be interested? What it gives you is the ability to delete files/pages, as well as the ability to block other users, which, should only be done when really necessary. While I will still maintain general oversight of the wiki, my role will change over time to more of a liaison between the community and Curse to deal with technical requests/difficulties, etc. but for that to happen, I need to establish a trusted community based admin team. You have appeared committed to the project from the beginning, so I thought I'd start with you. -- Wynthyst talk 14:58, 26 January 2012 (UTC)

I would gratefully accept that offer. Thanks! -- Aconitin talk 19:33, 26 January 2012 (UTC)
Ok, I have promoted you to admin. You need to enable email in your preferences so that users can contact you via email if necessary. If you run into any problems or questions, I am always available, just post a message, or send me an email. -- Wynthyst talk 20:39, 26 January 2012 (UTC)
Thanks! Speaking of problems, I do not recieve a confirmation E-mail. -- Aconitin talk 15:02, 27 January 2012 (UTC)

Hello and welcome to the wiki!
There are many people posting spam on the wiki at the moment, so sometimes it might happen that "normal" users get identified as spammers by our Abuse Filter as well. Sorry about that.
Also, please sign everything you write on discussion pages or other peoples' talk pages (it's explained here: http://www.cobaltwiki.com/Help:Editing), because it really helps to keep and overview about who wrote what.
Thanks for everything you do here! -- Aconitin talk 16:00, 14 April 2012 (UTC)

Thank you!
