The Portable Sentry is a throwable that will create a sentry gun with the primary weapon of the player that threw it. By default, Portable Sentries use the primary weapon of the player, but if not present, it will use a secondary.

Cobalt
In Cobalt, Portable Sentries are found in Survival and Story Mode. It will inherit the equipped gun, but if no gun is available, it will default to a Matter Prototype.
Cobalt WASD
In Cobalt WASD, Portable Sentries are throwables that can be purchased by Metalfaces (If a Metalface with a Portable Sentry dies, the Portable Sentry can be picked up by a Protobot.) Portable sentries heal teammates if used with a Nano Pump, but they can also be used to damage enemies. Sentries can be hacked by a Hack Grenade, in which case it will join the second team, and attack the team of the player who placed it.
