As of v102 Alpha, the bomb has been renamed to "Thermal Bomb" and now does heat damage. However, if you are close enough, you will still be killed by the large amount of thermal power hitting you.

*Getting killed by the bomb in the tutorial will crash your game, it is still possible to throw it, but if you are caught in the blast the game will crash. Quickly pressing ctrl-r can reload the game before it crashes.However it can be obtained through the level editor and the game will not crash if the player is killed by the bomb.
