Local Multiplayer (aka Hotseat Multiplayer, not to be confused with LAN) is currently the only type of Multiplayer in the game as of v102 Alpha.
It is currently available in Capture the Plug, Deathmatch, and Survival game modes, as well as the tutorial.
Setup
Local Multiplayer is achieved by using external gamepads that you plug into your computer. The number of players you can have is limited by the number of USB ports. Currently, you can only have one player play on the keyboard. You can have either one player on the keyboard, with others on gamepads, or all players on gamepads while playing Local Multiplayer. However, there is the possibility to virtualize a controller using keyboard keys, which enables Local Multiplayer on a single keyboard as seen here.
