The Bird is a common enemy found in survival mode as well as other modes. It follows the player, launches spikes and pecks at the players head. It can also pick up guns that are dropped and throwable drops and shoot or throw them at the player. Most weapons can kill it quickly, but there are usually multiple birds that are after the player. They spawn from eggs, which spawn in bird nests and on Trunkan heads.[1]
Birds will fly around the map is somewhat circular patterns when idle. When they spot a target, Birds will fly into the enemy in order to attempt pecking. Sometimes they will "harass" you by simply flying into you for a short while before pecking. When a Bird is about to peck, it makes a small, grunt-like honk. This same sound is played when a Bird plucks a spike from its plumage, and occasionally when it throws a weapon. Both attacks do little damage (the spike can even be rolled away), but are deadly in swarms.
Birds will tire out after a moment of flying; this can be identified by a wailing squawk and the Bird slowly losing altitude. When completely tired out, Birds will fall to the ground or any other surface and remain still, getting up after a short pause. Use this to your advantage.
Rolling into a Bird will stun it temporarily, as will any collision at a high enough speed. Jumping on a Bird will produce the same effect and this can even be used to gain a small boost in height or airtime.
Location
The Bird is found in the map Survival House, its spawn is on top of the second building from the player(s)'s spawn. They can also be found in the map Safest Gate, where they have 2 spawns : one on the top of the first building at the left of spawn and one on the top of the first building at the right.
Birds are found in deadly swarms in the survival map Bird Temple.
Also, in Survival House, the Guard's spawner will spawn them in waves 5, 6 and 7. In Safest Gate, the Guard's spawner will spawn them only in wave 5. It is important to note that a Bird spawned in the later stages of Survival House will carry a Thermal Bomb. This can be easily seen as it is carried across the battlefield. If you manage to kill the Bird before it throws it, you can obtain the Bomb for yourself.
