Template:Promotional tone/doc

When to use

Add this to articles that need help from other editors because they contain promotional language or material. This tag only applies to articles that are promoting a subject (rather than advertising something).

This template should be used if the problem is described by either, or both, of the following bullet points (from WP:PROMO):

1. REDIRECT Template:Tick Advocacy, propaganda, or recruitment of any kind: commercial, political, scientific, religious, national, sports-related, or otherwise. An article can report objectively about such things, as long as an attempt is made to describe the topic from a neutral point of view.

1. REDIRECT Template:Tick Self-promotion.

This template should not be used in an article if the following bullet point describes the problem ({{Advert}} should be used in this case):

Template:Redirect category shell Advertising, marketing or public relations. Information about people, organizations, issues, and products must be written in an objective and unbiased style, free of puffery.

This template adds articles to Category:Articles with a promotional tone.

How to use

• Place Template:Tlc at the top of the article.
• You can adjust the default "article" text with something more specific, such as: Template:Tlc.
